Coincidences or fate....

Here’s something to think about. For weeks, I’ve been pondering and realizing something. Almost all of my favorite shows are interconnected. Sure most tv shows are, but it’s just insane. Millions of coincidences and overlapping guest stars, it’s actually kind of neat if you think about it.

For example, most of the tv show’s I enjoy were created by guys with names that start with the letter ‘J,’ for example Roswell (Jason Katims), Buffy (Joss Whedon), and Alias/Felicity/Lost (J. J. Abrams). Weird coincidence or intentional? I noticed that one day and thought it was a little on the weird side, what are the chances that my most beloved shows were created by guys with the same first initial. It’s not earth shattering news or anything, just interesting if you ask me.

Next point of view, is all my favorite shows have overlapping actors. They’ve either had guest appearances or had little tiny roles on each other’s shows. I was amazed to find all the crossover actors between my shows. There was Nick from ‘Freaks and Geeks’ on ‘Alias,’ Logan from ‘Veronica Mars’ had a itty bitty roles on ‘Roswell’ (which I didn’t even realize until I was reading his bio, although I might add he did seem extremely familiar), Alyson Hannigan from ‘Buffy’ on ‘Veronica Mars’ recently, Jason Behr from ‘Roswell’ on ‘Buffy,’ Sean from ‘Roswell’ being on ‘Felicity’ (of course he was on ‘Felicity’ before Roswell, but in my mind this is how it works), Jennifer Garner was on ‘Felicity’ originally before her role on ‘Alias,’ plus there was Mason (Callum Blue) from ‘Dead like Me’ on an episode of ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ and the list goes on. It’s like connecting all my favorite shows by the dots. My favorite would have to be Kevin Weisman (aka Marshall from Alias). He’s literally been on the majority of my favourite shows. First he was on ‘Roswell,’ followed by his freaky-weird existence on ‘Felicity’ to becoming a lackey for Glory on ‘Buffy’ to even being on ‘Charmed’ (not favourite show, but I watch it from time to time, just mindless tv there) to now having a staring role on Alias. It’s amazing how many of my favourite shows he’d been one. Mind you any show that J.J. Abrams does, there is bound to be crossover actors. There is actually a huge list of people that did either Alias and Felicity, to Alias and Lost to even Felicity and Lost. I think he just really enjoys the people from his shows that he’s required to keep giving them work. Nevertheless it’s fun to find all these coincidences and fun stuff. At least I think so…

Ever better was the fact that I was watching ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ and I finally realized something I never thought of before, see Katherine Heigl (from ‘Roswell’) plays a girl named Isobel ‘Izzie’ Stevens (not to be confused with her role on ‘roswell’ as Isabel Evans – just another coincidence, I’m sure) whom will eventually hook up with a guy named Alex on the show (or at least it seems that – all the ships point there). Any hoos, on ‘Roswell’ her first or main love interest was named Alex. So on ‘Roswell’ she was Isabel (also refered to as Izzy) and hooked up (briefly) with a guy named Alex who totally dug her before she would give him the time of day, and on Grey’s Anatomy, she’s Izzie and her love interest will most likely be a guy named Alex. I thought this was very much on the humorous side. What are the chances of that, seriously? Either show’s creator liked Roswell and changed names of the characters once Katherine Heigl was casted or it’s just an unlikely coincidence. I’m just totally amused with all of this lately.

On that note...time to find something else do to besides television...Later Dayz...
