Memory lane is a hard path to walk....
For three days I have been walking down the path called memory lane. Sometimes it's fun and hiliarious, others not so much. You could even call some of it scary. I just can't believe how much stuff we had in that little area. It's insane. Our whole rec room has been filled with boxes upon boxes of old memories and souvenirs.
Good news: Tons of clothes for the people less forunate than us. Had a good laugh at some of the stuff we found.
Bad news: lots of dust in the house now. Plus we did break some things, not on purpose though.
I've learnt that my mom can never say I didn't like reading though. We found roughly 5 boxes full of my books (at least). Of course I kept most of them because as it turns out they don't make Sweet Valley High books any more. Actually they changed the whole series at some point, so these books are good to save because you won't be able to really buy them any more. Totally baffled me. It was funny to see all my books again. For the majority of them, I could remember them as if I'd read them yesterday. Children's books were the best though.
I even found art work and stories I did in elementary school, and I actually got rid of a bunch of them. I have the memory and the papers are all starting to decompose so it's probably a good idea to say my good-byes to them. Some of them were hiliarious. A few of my favorites included Trevor's riviting story about food in the bowl. I'll give you one verse "Cheese in the bowl, cheese in the bowl, stinky crumbly, stinky crumbly, cheese in the bowl." There was also my story about "the big Brther [not a typo] and me," it was pretty good too. After that I'm sure I won't forget the stories. I kept some other funny memorbilia but other stuff just had to point in keeping so I said good-bye. Oh and I've decided all my barbies are sluts (all of their tops had fallen below their "breast") therefore they're all sluts, I mean we already knew that but it's proven now!
I also have decided that all my Seventeen, YM, 'Teen, Teen People, and Cosmo magazines need to go. They fill at least two full huge cardboard boxes. I was looking at them and they're just rubbish, funny but rubbish. The ones that are almost 10 years old were the best. All these stars that were "up-and-coming" well half of them I still haven't heard anything about them. Just funny. I even found all the magazines that about up-and-coming stars such as Britney Spears (or is it federline now, lol) and Christina Aguliera. They looks so innocent then, just so funny to me. Oh well, they were good for laughs.
Overall we got rid of a lot of stuff. We have huge garage sale pile, five or six bags of clothes for the canadian diabetes society and lots of recycling papers. The storage area looks a hundred times better. The rec room is still a pig sty but shit happens.
Any ways, it's back to the memories for me...

Bill Haverchuck : I'm serious. She blamed it on the chair.
Sam Weir : Well, what kind of chair was it?
Bill Haverchuck : I don't know. Vinyl?
Sam Weir : Vinyl chairs always squeak!
Bill Haverchuck : It wasn't the sound of vinyl squeaking. It was the sound of cheese being cut. - 'Freaks and Geeks'
